Memorial Day Weekend

BIG COCKE CHARTERS is getting ready to head south to the Redneck Yacht Club in Punta Gorda, FL for Memorial Day.  We hope to sell and spread the word about our unique product and service.  It's been a good year for us, but we hope things continue to get better as we grow.  Our new website is up and running and offers tons of new products for all of our customers to enjoy.

Fishing is picking up and customers are starting to take repeat trips with us to the Gulf of Mexico.  Spreading the word and marketing is our chief concern right now.  Economically spreading the word is our goal.  We dont have a lot of capital so we must get the most bang for our buck, proverbially speaking.

BIG COCKE YEAR END

Here at the BIG COCKE RANCH aka The Ponderosa, we are looking back on a busy and event filled year!  It's time to cherish the memories from new friends, customers, and acquaintances.  We are reflecting on the ups and downs we experienced throughout the year.  Time to learn from our mistakes and capitalize on the positive steps we made.  Our theme for the year has been do more with less and get the name out.

We have truly bumbled and stumbled our way to present day, in every since of the word.  The phrase blind leading the blind comes to mind, but so does the phrase about perserverance paying off!  BIG COCKE CHARTERS is up to 5 lines of t-shirts (racing, hunting, charters, fighting, and choppers)  Along with the shirts, we have hats, bags, boxers, coozies, stickers, and more.  We acquired our beloved mascot, LUCKY, the 5 foot metal rooster earlier in the year.  Our products have been well received in the 4 states that we bombarded with our banter, charisma, and enthusiasm.  Even our little ole website is starting to see some activity averaging 20+ hits a day over the past couple of months.  Our products are making their way into the homes and hearts of thousands as a result of our BIG COCKE CRUSADES.  Success at these events has been a mystery and a puzzle.  For instance, we have sold the fool out of stuff at one event, then turn around to the same type of event and same scenario and wind up wondering what went wrong.  I do believe that people are starting to come out of their shell a little and sorta embrace us, our logo, and brand!

We are starting to see and develop relationships as well as repeat purchasers at some of these events.  In talking with one gentlemen at a mud bog in Lake Wales, he reminded me that he purchased from us while I was set up in Stuart Florida at a fishing flea market.  Several other folks have stumbled on us more than once whether we were at a mud bog, auto show, or flea market.  We are even being referred to as the "BIG COCKE GUYS" as people see us at different events.  So, the name is getting out; we just hope the benefits and fruits of our labor return as plentiful as we are anticipating.  The seed is sown, the ground watered, now it's time to produce!

In January, we are going in jointly with an anonymous t-shirt powerhouse company that is going to direct mail 2000+ of their customers/stores with our products.  This will tell the proverbial tale and let us know where we stand.  Hopes and dreams are riding on this venture as everything is pointing to success!  Only time will tell, but that's where we are now.

BIG COCKIN IT

Big Cocke Charters is still trying to get the proverbial plane off the ground.  Things are going well but could be better.  Our 5 lines/designs of t-shirts are going to be ready any day now: BIG COCKE Racing, Hunting, Charters, Fighting, and Choppers.  These designs are hopefully going to give us enough weapons (products) to break into the very tough apparel industry.  We have been selling shirts and products at a very rapid pace but are looking forward to some wholesale accounts reaching customers we cant reach from right here in South Georgia.

So, we are going down to Perry, Fl for a few days and do some fishing to give us a much needed taste of relaxation.  Along with this "time off" we are starting a massive road trip that will put the BIG COCKE CLAN in 4 different states over a 3 week span.  Sales are expected at the world's largest mud bog down in Perry, Fl and from there we are going to North Carolina to setup in front of some stores in the great state.  From there, we are hitting up Columbia, SC which happens to be home of the GAMECOCKS.  Up there, they can wear shirts that say cock on it without blushing or having to explain themselves.  So, we hope for some direct sales there as we plan to sell to some folks before a South Carolina home football game as well as target some stores in that region.  After a few days in South Kakalacky, we will to a conference in the North Georgia mountains that will put us in front of some stores here in the peach state.  From there we will meander our way from the NE corner of GA to the NW corner and end up in Dalton, GA for some much anticipated tennis.

By that time, we hope to have made some good sales both direct and wholesale.  And of course, then we will come back to a dumptruck load of paper work and the usual goodness that follows time on the road away from the office.  That's about all i know of right now, so keep your eyes and ears peeled for the BIG COCKE!

Bottle Coozies with built in Bottle Opener

We made it back from South Florida sellilng our goodies at the boat, fishing, and seafood festival.  We probbably broke even on the money part after you figure in all the expenses versus the money brought we brought in.  The exposure we got from the trip, I believe, is priceless! Tons of folks embraced us and expressed their love and excitement for our goods and company!

We have seen the interest grow for our neoprene bottle coozies with built in bottle opener.  This product is new to the market and is patented and seems to be the hottest new thing on the market.  For instance, I sold over $200 worth of these things just yesterday while running errands around town.  Folks everywhere are amazed by the idea of having the opener buitlt in to the coozie and cant believe they did not think of it already!  It's funny to be selling these to drinkers when i don't even drink myself!!!  We are steadily working on getting our products out to the public and our devoted fans/supporters!

We are looking at other events coming up in the near future.  The whole idea is to get in front of as many people as we can so that people will know about us and be able to purchase our goods all in one encounter!  The more people see and know about us, the better off we will be!!!  Check us out at www.BIGCOCKE.net

GRAM PARSONS GUITAR PULL

BIG COCKE just got back to Valdosta from Waycross, GA which is hosting the annual Gram Parsons guitar pull!  The town is excited to pay respect and honor the life and accomplishments of the legend that brought together country music & rock and roll in a time when that just wasn't cool.  He was thinking outside the box and sorta meshed the two styles of music.  This concept was unheard of and is the reason so many songs are popular to folks who follow different types of  music.

Every year, the town hosts a festival and has bands from all over the world come in and pick and play music for the public to enjoy.  The event is scheduled for the 16, 17, and 18 at the Waycross fairgrounds.  So, BIG COCKE is going to take advantage of this marketing opportunity and sell shirts and our world famous bottle coozies with openers at the festival.  I was over there earlier today dropping off the goods for our friends to sell.

The BIG COCKE CREW is not actually gonna attend the event b/c of family illness and b/c I will be going down to Palm Beach, Stuart Florida for the nautical flea market/seafood festival/boatshow.  I plan on setting up down there and sell shirts and goodies Friday, Sat, and Sun (16-19).  Hopefully, this event will be profitable and successful in terms of sales and advertising the BIG COCKE logo and goods.  I'll keep ya updated as we go and find out the results of this huge show down near Miami!  Best wishes and GOD BLESS

BIG COCKE CHARTERS: Surf Expo Orlando

BIG COCKE CHARTERS: Surf Expo Orlando: "The Big Cocke Clan just got back from the Surf Expo in Orlando. We did not actually set up and exhibit as a vendor this time, but we did ha..."

Surf Expo Orlando

The Big Cocke Clan just got back from the Surf Expo in Orlando.  We did not actually set up and exhibit as a vendor this time, but we did have a chance to walk the floor and get more ideas as to what and how we want to display our products in January.  Basically, the show puts store buyers/owners together with companies that want their products sold in these stores.  All the buyers owned stores, surf shops, beach shops, or t-shirt related businesses.

We mingled and met with tons of folks like ourselves as well as buyers for these stores!  It was great to spend time face to face with folks that can sell our products to vacationers, surfers, and beach goers in general!  They have the experience and know how, and we found that our product is of interest to them!  We were able to find out some pricing info from the buyers as well as the other sellers and sorta pick their brains about the whole process.  We updated facebook with lots of pictures and some tales of our trip.

Overall, it was good to be surrounded by people knowledgeable about our industry.  The feedback we received was enough to let us know we were on the right track.  It's up to us to continue developing our products and systems so that we will be prepared for our chance to display/exhibit when the time is right!  We look forward to the challenge and will continue working hard to getting our stuff in front of as many customers/buyers as possible!  Learn more at http://www.bigcocke.net/
